Eğitmenler
Birincil eğitmenler temel uçuş eğitimi için kullanılırken, gelişmiş eğitmenler savaş uçaklarının daha karmaşık sistemlerine ve daha yüksek hızlarına aşina olmak ve hava muharebe eğitimi için kullanılıyordu. Çok motorlu eğitmenler, pilotları çok motorlu bombardıman uçaklarına ve nakliye araçlarına hazırlamak ve navigatörleri, bombardıman uçaklarını, topçuları ve uçuş mühendislerini eğitmek için kullanıldı. İngiliz Milletler Topluluğu Hava Eğitim Planı (BCATP) gibi büyük ölçekli eğitim programları mevcut olandan daha fazla uçak gerektirmesine rağmen, çoğu ülke ileri eğitim için eski savaş türlerini kullandı ve uçaklar eğitim rollerini yerine getirmek için özel olarak tasarlandı ve üretildi. Birkaç ülkede orta düzey eğitmenler kullanıldı, ancak ilk aşamadaki ek saatler onları gereksiz kıldı.
